The Veritas Bench Stud mounts in a 19mm(3/4") diameter hole. It can lock into material as thin as 16mm(5/8") (depending on the strength of the material) and in blind holes 32mm(1.1/4") deep. Place the wedge in the hole and rotate the toggle bar until the wedges lock in the hole. The 125mm(5") long stud has 1/2-13 UNC threads and provides an overall clamping capacity of 103mm(4.1/8") using the supplied wing nut.N.B. The 1/2-13 thread offers enormous mechanical advantage, and is fully capable of drawing the post out of the dog hole, even if it has been tightly locked in place. Do not over-torque the wing nut.
