A range of metric or imperial chisels and bits intended for use in those light duty and trade rated machines that accept 3/4" shank chisels as well as the Axminster Mortice Attachment. A 3/4"-13/16" adaptor, stock number 400043, is available to accommodate these chisels and bits into other machines and attachments. Because of the economic price of these chisels and bits, it is not viable to offer spare bits as they would be priced at very nearly the same price as the complete set.

TiN Coating Explained

Titanium nitride (TiN) is an extremely hard ceramic material often used as a coating on steel, carbide and aluminium components to improve the substrate's surface properties. Applied as a thin coating, TiN is used to harden and protect cutting and sliding surfaces which makes it a perfect choice for drill bits, mortice chisels and any other tooling where edge retention is of utmost importance. This process can improve a bit's lifetime by up to three times when compared to a non-coated bit.
