This workbench provides enough space for two people to work together at the same time. Made from slow grown European beech and birch, it is extremely robust. Its construction uses two 40mm thick slabs of laminated beech, each measuring 1,800mm x 250mm. A central shallow recess of 330mm width runs along the full length. This gives a bench size of 1,800 x 830mm. There is the provision to add a 180mm (7") York woodworking vice to each side, just purchase one or two vice kits, each of which comprises one vice and fittings. The frame is made from 80mm square legs and 90 x 40mm braces, firmly bolted together to form a rigid frame. Two birch ply panels create a 1,340 x 705mm shelf within the legs, supported on the braces. Easy to assemble, this is reminiscent of a traditional school woodworking bench brought up to date. No vices are included with this bench, they are available as an optional extra.
