A Tenon Saw is a large backsaw used for making accurate deep cuts in furniture joinery. It should cut straight and fast, and the blade should not bind in the cut. Filed crosscut, the Tenon saw is used for cross grain work like tenon shoulders, housing dados and sliding dovetails, or precise cut offs with a mitre box. For cutting tenon shoulders, which is with the grain, a saw with rip filed teeth is offered. The Lie-Nielsen Tenon Saw is based on a classic Henry Disston model. All the Lie-Nielsen Tenon saws feature curly Maple handles. The brass strip, which stiffens the blade and adds weight to the cut, is milled solid brass 19 x 6.35mm(3/4" x 1/4"). The blade is finest Swedish Steel, 0.8mm(.032
